Community Café launches Lunches!

Delicious and wonderful lunches are being served in the Community Café every Wednesday from 16th June 2010. Come and grab your place before the rush, you can even pre-order your lunch in advance by email, phone or in person by speaking to Kerri with your requirements.

Community Café announces five day opening...

The Community Cafe in Stillingfleet Road, Barnes, is now open Monday to Friday, 9 – 11am.

Opened in mid 2009 the café has been so popular the committee has decided to extend the opening hours.

“We have been really pleased with the way the café has worked out” said volunteer Clare “there is a real buzz and people have somewhere local to go for a good cup of coffee and a chat.”

Extending the opening hours means more volunteers are needed to help serve customers and bake cakes.

Committee member Juliet told us “We can only open the extra hours if people are willing to donate their time. Two hours once a fortnight is all we’re asking for! We only use Fairtrade products and where else in Barnes can you have a pot of tea and a slice of toast for £1.00 !!!.”

Tea and Toast £1 !!!

The café is open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 11.00am, and is open to all.

Do come along to sample the finest fairtrade coffee and tea in North Barnes at very reasonable prices.

****We are also looking for additional volunteers to help in the café, or to offer to make cakes. If you are interested, please pop in to the café and talk to one of the volunteers.

We would like people to commit to two hours once a fortnight. The more people we have the smaller the commitment need be.
