Courses and Groups...

Speakeasy Course

● Do you feel comfortable and relaxed talking to your children about growing up?

● Want to be more prepared for the kind of questions your children may ask?

● Are you sure of all your facts?

● Could you use some support?

Speakeasy is a fun and relaxed course that will help you build on what you already know about sex and relationships. It offers you the opportunity to learn together using your own experiences. Courses are delivered by skilled fpa trainers in small and friendly groups.

● Everyone is welcome to join in – mum, dad or anyone who’s caring for a child.

● Everyone gets involved – talking, listening and sharing ideas and information.

● The sessions are fun and varied to give you the opportunity to learn in many different ways.

● Groups usually meet once a week, for seven weeks.

● Courses can be adapted to suit the needs of different groups – including those whose first language is not English.

This course will be starting at 6pm until 8pm on Thursday 30th September and will run for 8 weeks, finishing on 25th November. It will be in the Playgroup room at the back of the Castelnau Community Centre. For more info please contact Philippa on 020 8741 6526.

North Barnes Friendship Group

We are a support group for single parents. We can share experiences, help with practical advice, support and friendship.

Back in March 2009 a group of single parents took part in a Gingerbread initiative, a five week course called 'Building Futures'. It was aimed to help us find the skills and confidence to get back into the workplace.

Part of the course was to organise an event, which in our case was a party with a childrens entertainer Jilly JamJar. We had such fun that we looked to do more. We secured some funding and put on The Champions Party back in July and held ‘Robin Hood’ the panto leading up to Christmas.

When: Tuesdays (term time only) between 9am and 11am.

Venue: Castelnau Community Café.

We are a small group, but would like to reach more people within the community to share our experiences and support. Please let people know our cause! We are here to help.

Contact Tamsin on: 07946314463

or email northbarnesfriends@hotmail.co.uk or please just come along on a Tuesday during term times to the Castelnau Centre.

*In this months Newsletter we have included a short questionnaire for members to hopefully find out your views on how you'd like to see your group progress and find out more about your needs. Please click on the link below to download a copy.
